SELF – McManus Galleries
The group decided to go and
look at the very well publicised exhibition in McManus galleries.
It contained works by a variety of artists and from young people
in Dundee themselves. The purpose of the exhibition was to look
at self-identity.
The young people appreciated
much of the exhibition, but also found that parts of it were to
complex for young people to grasp. The exhibition was very informative
and made the young people and the staffs look at the way they
viewed themselves and how others viewed them.
As an activity after
looking at the exhibition the art workers from the galleries lead
us in an activity where we were encouraged to again look at the
way others viewed us. We looked through paper, magazines, used
glitter, ink and much more props to make pieces of work that we
thought showed a true reflection of how others seen us. Bottom
is the results.
